Since the release of the TroopMaster 2008 Import feature, a couple of bugs have been identified and fixed. We are communicating these to you because you may need to take action to correct any errors in your Troop Roster – most likely through a simple re-import.

TroopMaster Mic-O-Say

Mic-O-Say is an honor society used in a number of Councils. It is not an official BSA program.

TroopMaster has an option to perform Mic-O-Say record keeping. If you have Mic-O-Say turned off in TroopMaster Preferences, an invalid SOAR export file will be created.

This will be fixed in the next TM 2008 release (V4.00f) in a few weeks. In the interim, make sure Mic-O-Say is turned on within TroopMaster.

Multiple Parent Accounts

A bug was found that under certain conditions multiple parent accounts would be created during TroopMaster 2008 import.

This bug has been resolved. If you use the “remove members” option on your next Import, the duplicate accounts will be removed.

Wrong Parent Association

A bug was found that under certain conditions a parent would be associated with their own children and that of a child with only a single parent.

This bug has been resolved. A new import will resolve the issue

Do I need to do anything?

Check to make sure your Mic-O-Say Troopmaster Preference is turned on

• Download the next TroopMaster 2008 release (V4.00f), and then you can turn this preference off

If you have done a TroopMaster 2008 Import and are using ACTIVE accounts

• Send us an email
• We want to double check your site before you do another TM 2008 Import

If you have done a TroopMaster 2008 Import and are using BLOCKED accounts

• Perform another TM 2008 Import to fix any errors in your Roster
• Use the “remove members” option to clear out any non-matching accounts
