EBlast Settings
An icon is available under Administration/Email/Eblast called Settings. This page allows you to setup your EBlast options.
- Enable EBlast
- This will turn on/off the EBlast feature
- Email Address
- All EBlast emails will come form the email address: eblast@
- This is an alias to the email address defined by this option
- This design was chosen to assist in EBlasts not being flagged as SPAM
- Day of the Week
- You get to pick the day of the week EBlasts will be generated on
- The time of the day will vary based on the current load of the servers
- New/Updated Limit
- As you add new events or update existing events on your unit calendar, they are automatically included in the next EBlast.
- This setting will let you determine the "window" of events that will be included in an EBlast.
- There are options from 1-6 months and a no limit option which will include all events, independant of when they occur.
- This option can be used effectively when loading a large number of events in your website calendar without having them clutter the next EBlast.
- Use Patrol Filter
- For those not using Den/Patrol Filters, this option has no effect
- If you do use Den/Patrol Filters this option will turn on/off the personalized EBlast emails
- No Filter = All Content
- There are often unit members that do not belong to a Den/Patrol
- These are often adult volunteers that no longer have boys in the unit, but still provide their service
- By default, these members will only receive Pack/Troop content and usually Committee content if they are a leader. They will not see all the Den/Patrol activity
- When you turn on this option, these unit members will receive all content in EBlasts
- Exclude Content
- A number of customers use Den/Patrol/Group Filters to add generic events to their calendars such as public holidays and school events.
- By default all of these events are included in EBlasts, which can detract from focusing unit members on unit events.
- You can exlude content by checking their filter for exclusion.
Exclude Members
An icon is avialable at Administration/Email/EBlast/Exclude Members that will allow you to select members that you do not want to receive EBlasts. This function will allow you check members that you want to exclude from EBlasts.
We have found that unit policies on sending email vary greatly. Some units believe every unit member should receive email updates on unit activities with no ability to “opt-out” from this form of communication. Some units believe their members should have the ability to “opt-out” from any email communication and put the responsibility on the unit member to frequently check the website for updates.
By default EBlasts are sent to ALL unit members.
