We have received very positive response to the EBlast features. We have added the additions below to the EBlast feature.

EBlast Content Exclusion

A number of customers use Den/Patrol/Group Filters to add generic events to their calendars such as public holidays and school events. By default all of these events are included in EBlasts, which can detract from focusing unit members on unit events.

You can now select Den/Patrol/Group Filters that will be excluded from EBlasts. Go to Administration/Email/EBlast/Settings. You can check the filters you would like to exclude. Make sure to click Save EBlast Settings after making any changes

EBlast Member Exclusion

We have found that unit policies on sending email vary greatly. Some units believe every unit member should receive email updates on unit activities with no ability to “opt-out” from this form of communication. Some units believe their members should have the ability to “opt-out” from any email communication and put the responsibility on the unit member to frequently check the website for updates.

By default EBlasts are sent to ALL unit members.

We have added a Member Exclusion function that will allow you to select unit members that will be excluded from EBlasts. This feature can be found at Administration/Email/EBlast/Exclude Members. Simply check the members that you want to exclude from EBlasts and click the Exclude Members button at the bottom of the page.

EBlast Updated Events

The left hand column of an EBlast contains content that was added or updated in the last 7 days. If an event that had already occurred was updates, say with meeting minutes, this event would show up in the next EBlast – because it had been updated.

The new/updated content logic has been modified for events to check if the event was add/updated in the last 7 days AND the event is in the future.

EBlast Now

This feature will send out an EBlast immediately. You can use this feature instead of the scheduled EBlasts to pick when you want an EBlast to go out or you can use it to supplement your current EBlast schedule when you need to make important communication.

There is also an option if the EBlast Now should be recorded, in relation to the current EBlast schedule.
