Service Outage 8/28/2009 10:30 – 11:30 PM ESTIt is our policy to provide you with notification of any issue that has interrupted service to your website. We do this to ensure good communication with our customers and to make you aware of the issue so you can answer questions raised by your unit members. Service Outage – 8/28/2009 10:30 – 11:30 PM EST At 10:30 PM EST on Friday August 28th, there was a power failure at the data center that hosts or servers at our service provider www.serverbeach.com. The electric company was on site at the data center doing routine maintenance. They accidentally cut a cable and in the process shorted out the backup UPS systems. Thus no main power or backup power. The entire data center and associated servers were without power for 1 hour. All of the SOAR servers are hosted in this data center. Thus there was no access to any SOAR website during this time. At 11:30 PM EST the electric company had fixed the issue and our servers came back online. The servers automatically came up without issue and access to SOAR websites was restored. Service History We thought it would be a good idea on each Service Outage announcement to include a record of service interruptions during the last year. While we strive to provide 100% service availability, unscheduled service outages will occur from time to time. When these do occur our upfront planning will help to minimize the duration of these service outages.
