TroopMaster Import Issue Resolved !

Boy Scout Troops,

On Monday March 28, 2011 TroopMaster released an update that included an error in the SOAR.xfr file created by the File -> Export -> SOAR function within TroopMaster.

The column headers inside the file did not match the data columns. If you updated to this release of TroopMaster and you imported the file into your SOAR website on Monday it corrupted your website Roster. This was due to the mismatched data columns within the SOAR.xfr file. This also resulted in most parent/leader accounts being recreated with invalid data and thus causing login issues.

On Monday evening, thanks to customer reports, we noted the problem and turned off the TroopMaster Import function to prevent additional customers from running into the issue. We also contacted TroopMaster Support to resolve the issue. We identified those customers that showed signs of issues in the Roster from this issue and contacted them directly.

For those customers that experienced the problem, we rolled back their SOAR website via backups to Monday morning to restore the Roster and accounts. We also documented any changes that were made on their sites since the backup so they could manually update their site after the roll back.

On Tuesday/Wednesday we worked with TroopMaster to identify the issue and work on a permanent fix for the issue.

TroopMaster released an upgrade on Thursday March 31st, 2011 that fixed the issue. We have turned the TroopMaster Import feature back on for all SOAR websites.

Please make sure you upgrade to the latest version of TroopMaster, dated 3/31/2011, to avoid the issue.

Thank you for your patience while this issue was being resolved.
