We have updated the Rich Text Editor within your websites. In addition to addressing some issues with Internet Explorer 8, we have made the following additions:
- Spell Check ! – After typing in your content you can spell check it by clicking the “ABC“ icon, last on the 2nd row. This will highlight potential spelling errors by underlining them. If you right click on an underlined word you can choose from properly spelled words and other options
- Advanced Bullets – There are now more options for the bullet and numbered lists. Use the down arrow next to those buttons to access the additional options
- Undo/Redo – You can now back out of any changes you make while editing using the Undo button. If you want to move forward and put the change back in place you can use the Redo button. These are the first two buttons on the 2nd row
- Cut, Copy, Paste – We have added specific buttons for Cut, Copy, and Past functions. On the 2nd row. In addition there are two new paste buttons that will help in controlling how your information is placed into the Rich Text Editor from external sources (i.e. Microsoft Word).
- The “Paste as Plain Text” button will remove all formatting before pasting. This can be useful as often formatting from other sources will contain formatting that is not website compatible
- The “Paste from Word” button is specifically designed to copy information from Microsoft word, keep as much formatting as possible, but not add formatting that will cause issues in the website.
- Note: Many formatting options in Microsoft Word are not “web compatible”. Do not have the expectation that copying something from Microsoft Word to your website will retain all formatting.
