For Announcements on the Home Page and Announcements/Events in the EBlast (left column) the website automatically create a “teaser” version for display. This teaser is meant to help condense information for easier viewing and consists of the first XXX characters of content. A Read More link is available to members if there is more content than shown. Customers can manually control the Teaser Break to adjust what exactly is displayed publically in the teaser on the home page and what is required to login to view. Automatic teaser breaks can sometimes cut through formatting applied by the customer in the Rich Text Editor and cause formatting to “leak” into the rest of the Home Page or EBlast. Some customers will have experienced the right column of their Home Page ends up below all Announcements. Another example is that some Announcements will “indent” below other Announcements or that subsequent announcements have a larger font or different color. To date this has been fixed by going back into the offending Announcement and manually setting a Teaser Break before or after the formatting.

SOAR website services have been upgrade to automatically “clean” the teaser so that no formatting will leak into other parts of your Home Page or EBlast. This means the only time you need to use the manual Teaser Break is to define what is public vs. private.

For those that are technically inclined we have accomplished this by cataloging all the HTML start tags in the Teaser and making sure they have proper end tags at the end of the Teaser.
